How to easily manage your website.
By Stephen Cooper
Your nice shiny new web site has been built and uploaded to the server. Now comes the real work; promotion, link exchange, e-zine/newsletter e.tc e.t.c e.t.c
How are you going to keep track of all these things? Which search engines you submitted to and when. Link partners details, which articles were in your newsletter and when.
I am going to show you how to build a website located on your local hard drive which has all of the necessary information and links to make it easier to manage your site. I call my own one a Site Management Intranet.
1- What information are you going to need?
Search engines and directories, Link partners, ezine/newsletter, links to useful tools and resources regularly used, email accounts (if you have more than one like me), web site/s information for se submission, passwords. Hosting information, Email safelists, email promotion letters. (The information you require may be different to this.)
2-Which pages will you need?
You will need the following pages to access the information above.
Search Engines/Directories
Here you will put links to the search engines and directories you submit your site to. I have a link which opens a small pop-up window with the name of the site, email address, url, description and keywords. I then copy and paste this information into the search engine form. You can have a table which shows which site was submitted to which search engine and when.
Email Accounts
Links to email accounts with name and passwords.
Hosting Accounts
Links to hosting accounts with name and passwords.
Links to (your) sites
Here you can have links to acces your web sites.
Link Partners
On this page you can have links to sites you share reciprocal links with.
Ezines/Newsletters
Here you can put information about which ezine/newsletter was sent and when.
Email promo letters
Information about which email promotion letter was sent and when.
Safelists
Links here to email safelists, when they were used and which email was sent.
On-line Tools
There are many tools which are useful, html checks, link checks, reciprocal link fnders. A free tool that I find very useful is Sitesells Value Exchange which searches for sites which are related to yours.

Webmaster resources
On this page there are links to resources such as javascripts, CGI, Perl, ASP
The above idea is for my own sites and I have found it very useful, yours will be different and relate to the information you want to manage.
